On Monday, December 4, 2023, United Way Turks and Caicos hosted a magical evening of literacy and laughter at the Downtown Ballpark in Providenciales. Families from across the island gathered to enjoy our “YES I Can Read” charity event—a joyful celebration of reading, imagination and community.

One of the highlights of the evening was a special appearance by the beloved Dr. Seuss! Children ages 1 to 12 had the chance to meet the iconic character and listen to whimsical stories that sparked giggles and wonder.

Admission was free for all, in true community spirit. The event offered not only storytelling fun but also a spread of delicious desserts and exciting giveaways for the children. The energy was high, the smiles were wide, and the joy of reading filled the air.

It was a heartwarming reminder of how powerful storytelling can be in bringing people together. United Way Turks and Caicos remains committed to nurturing literacy and learning in every corner of our community—one story at a time.
